I asked my daughter if she wanted to go night skiing. She said, “No.” She thought I meant skiing in the dark and running into trees. I explained to her that the ski runs had lights but she wasn’t buying it. It still sounded crazily unsafe to her.
I said, “Well, we are going anyway. And you are going to feel silly when you remember not wanting to go because you are going to love it.”
On the way to Keystone for an afternoon and evening of skiing, I shared Mark Twain’s quote with her, “I am an old man and have known a great many troubles, but most of them never happened.”
Well, she loved night skiing – of course!
On the way home I asked her if Mark Twain’s quote made more sense now. It did.
Here’s the question – where are we doing this in our lives right now? And what if we relaxed and trusted instead?
Much love,
