OK God, pay attention, here’s how it is going to go . . .

Hopefully – if we caught ourselves saying, “OK God, pay attention, here’s how it is going to go . . . “ we’d feel pretty silly.

But that is what we are doing all the time. Anytime (and every time) that we get our heads involved in the how that is exactly what we are doing.

“I want that organization or individual as my new client.” No! What you want is new business with people who want what you have and that you can serve and make a difference for – and get paid. If it is the organization or individual that you identified – then great. If it is someone else do you really care? Does it matter?

“I want to be in relationship with this person or my relationship with this person to be better.” No! What you want is to be in an amazing, fulfilling, and deeply connected relationship. Whether it is the person you have your sights set on or someone else is just a detail.

“I want an extra $10,000 and here’s the way that will happen.” No! As long as we stay open to possibility rather than deluding ourselves that we know the “how”, there are a million ways that could happen.

I often hear “how” even when people are praying. “Okay God here’s the result I want and here’s the path for that to happen.” No! Here’s the result I want and how it happens does not really matter.

What you want is your job. How that happens is God’s job!!!!
