Here’s Why . . .
Say out loud, “I approve of me.” Then notice how true that feels. Rate it on a scale of 1-10. 10 = absolutely true. 1 = liar liar pants on fire.
Assuming that your answer is not up in the 9-10 range – what is the first answer that pops into your head to – I don’t approve of myself because _________.
Chances are that there is going to be a lot of pain and suffering around that answer. (There is always pain and suffering when we believe a lie like this.) That’s because we’ve let a circumstance or an outcome define who we are. We let this define our worth as a human being. Yikes, that’s crazy. Who we are is so much more than any circumstance!!!
The next step is to get to the personal growth gym and let go of that lie – or continue to be tormented by it for the rest of our lives.
And if you don’t know how to let go of it, work with someone who does know how.
p.s. – an ask: I’m shaving my head on March 10 with St Baldricks for childhood cancer research. All donations are greatly appreciated! stbaldricks.org/participants/ jonathanmanske2017
