Better off jumping
My daughter went on a rafting trip last week. Her favorite part of the trip was when she screwed up her courage enough to jump off a cliff and into the river.
This reminded me of an experience I had on a rafting trip back in high school.
My friend and I had a discussion at the top of the cliff. We concluded that jumping off that cliff would do nothing to make our lives better. So we turned around to start walking down.
Immediately we saw two women headed our way.
I said to my friend, “We are jumping on the count of three!”
The fear of jumping didn’t even come close to the shame we would have experienced walking by the women with our tails between our legs.
Where can we use this strategy where jumping (whatever that might look like) is by far the better choice?
Much Love,
