A Penny’s Worth Of Progress
I spoke at a retreat a few weeks ago. One of my points of emphasis was celebrating progress and celebrating what we did get done rather than belittling ourselves for what we did not get done.
Afterwards, I received an email from Lisa S who came up with a simply brilliant strategy for putting this into play.
Here’s what Lisa said, “I am a person that is very hard on myself despite all my successes – constantly ‘shoulding’ myself (and others) – and not often giving enough credit for the good things I have done for my business or my life. In only a day since your talk, I made several moves to advance my Arbonne business and to celebrate each one of them.
I will be putting a jar in my office and every time I do something for my business, I will be putting a penny into the jar. There will be no withdrawals, only deposits. Over time, I will be able to see the visual progress I’m making despite what is happening in the very moment.”
I absolutely love Lisa’s idea of a visual representation of activity and progress. I invite you to give it a try, or find your own way to become good at celebrating your progress!
Much love,
Jonathan
