Unfolding Perfectly
Being in Alaska has given me several opportunities to reflect on my life and how it has perfectly unfolded. Looking back, I can see those forks in the road where if I had turned a different direction, my life would look very different than it does now.
Laura, who took us on a rain forest hike, and Trevon, who took us on a kayaking tour, are both young biologists, fresh out of college. I’m a biologist by education and contemplated some sort of career like that.
I’ve talked to many people who came to Alaska for the summer and are still here 20 and 30 years later. That easily could have been me.
And I’ve seen the crab boats and the long liners in the harbors. A different turn many years ago, and I’d still be working in that industry (hopefully captaining a boat rather than being a really old deck hand).
And there are many more stories like this from other chapters of my life.
So, is my life now perfect? Of course not, I’m human and there’s always up from here. And, there sure is a lot to be grateful for! My life has unfolded rather magnificently so far. I bet yours has too. Let’s be grateful together.
Much Love,
