I DID MY JOB!!!!!

I have realized that I can do my job and experience the satisfaction that comes from doing my job – independent of the outcome.

When I set the stage for someone to have a great experience, I have done my job. Whether or not they have the great experience is their job.

When I make it easy for someone to stop being upset, I have done my job independent of whether or not they stop being upset.

I can do my job in sales (uncover their pain and show them a solution) and they still might not buy – but I have done my job.

I can show someone a new way of thinking (my job) whether they think that way is their job.

When I realize that I HAVE DONE MY JOB!!! – I get to feel joy, happiness, and satisfaction. I do not need to be attached to the results.

This reminds me of the old saying, “You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it drink.” Do your job and lead the horse to water and then let the horse have his or her own experience.
