More About Comparison
My week of fishing in Alaska has shown me over and over just how destructive comparison can be.
I saw many instances of people getting frustrated, mad, depressed, apathetic, and disappointed because someone was catching more salmon than they were. (I had my moments of this too.)
Obviously when this happens, the fun stops. We lose our center and our peace of mind. Quality of life goes downhill in a hurry. We lose perspective and forget about all the good and beauty around us. We discount the successes we have already had
Also, via the law of attraction, the chances of us getting what we want decreases too.
It is all so darn damaging.
Being grateful for what we already have is such a better choice.
Much love,
Jonathan
