We think that we are logical creatures because we can think. But, we are not. We are emotional creatures that sometimes use logic. Emotion drives us. (Any Sales 101 class will teach that people buy emotionally and then afterwards justify their purchase by using logic. So, if we want to sell then we must connect with their emotions.)

That’s why it is so important to pay attention to our feelings when thinking about our goals, visualizing, or saying affirmations.

For example ~ If I have a heavy heart when I think about my goals, I won’t be achieving those goals. If I feel doubt or disbelief when I visualize and affirm then I am reinforcing the doubt and disbelief rather than creating the positive change I want to create.

There’s even scientific basis for this. Research from the HeartMath Institute shows that the electromagnetic field generated by our hearts is far stronger than the electromagnetic field generated by our brains. “The heart, like the brain, generates a powerful electromagnetic field, McCraty explains in The Energetic Heart. “The heart generates the largest electromagnetic field in the body. The electrical field as measured in an electrocardiogram (ECG) is about 60 times greater in amplitude than the brain waves recorded in an electroencephalogram (EEG).” HeartMath link

So, pay attention to those feelings and shift them when appropriate.
