Compelling Questions and Technology
I received a call today from a former client who wanted to give me an update. He already has more business on the books than he had all last year. And, last year was a record year. (Way to go PT!)
He attributes much of his success to a couple of personal growth tools that he has been using daily for almost two years ~ afformations and what if’s.
Afformations are a form of positive self talk where you ask yourself an expansive question. Our brains naturally look to answer questions.
His afformation is: Why is my life so easy and profitable? Asking this question causes his brain to start searching for answers. It also invites him to habitually view life from a very beneficial view point.
He also has a what if statement: What if my business can do $1 million in revenue this year!
What if’s are amazing for creating possibility and for escaping the trap of the cursed hows. “I don’t know how but what if I can!” What we want is our job. How that happens is God’s job. (more on what if at https://www.youtube.com/watch?
Then what he has done so brilliantly is leverage technology. Four times a day his affirmation shows up on his phone and he pauses for a minute and experiences that compelling question. Four other times a day his what if statement shows up on his phone and he pauses for a minute and experiences that compelling question.
He’s conditioning his brain, beliefs, and expectations for success at least eight times a day, every day.
The personal growth tools work when we consistently use them.
What are two compelling questions that you could interact with multiple times every day? And, are you going to do this for the long haul?
I write these Daily Doses because I know that my content does make a difference and helps people live better lives. So, if you know someone who would benefit from today’s thoughts, please pass this on. Thanks and gratitude in advance!
