Stopping the Condemnation Craze
We have been trained and conditioned to look at things from a good or bad, right or wrong perspective. This brings in judgment and condemnation. When we do this, we are making identity statements. ~ He is a bad person because he did that bad thing. I am a bad person because I’m over weight or under-funded or . . . etc. And, bad people need to be punished.
A much more kind, humane, and accurate perspective is that behaviors are not our identity. Behaviors either work or do not work. They either bring us closer to our goals or farther away from our goals. They either are in alignment with who we want to be, or they aren’t. But they are not the truth about us. They are not our identity. Behaviors are not the measure of our worth as a human. ~ I’m okay, even though I am under-performing in some area of my life.
We are the much-loved children of a loving God regardless of our performance and that can never change.
Much Love,
Jonathan
