Salmon and Miracles
Einstein said something along the lines of ~ there are two ways to look at the world: as if there are no miracles or if everything is a miracle.I prefer the second. When we see and appreciate miracles (and even look for them) life gets so much richer.
Since I have salmon on the brain, let’s appreciate the miracle of the salmon. After a year of living in the river, they go to sea for 2 to 5 years (depending on the species). Then somehow from all over the vast ocean, millions of salmon find their way back to the very river (not the closest river) in which they were spawned. Then they swim upriver for long distances (Kenai River sockeye swim at least 70 miles) before they spawn.
Along the way, they feed many bears and seals (and humans). Many smaller animals feed on what the bears leave behind and the carcasses fertilizer the river areas.
Wow, that’s a lot of miracles!
What miracles can you see and appreciate today?
Much Love,
