So often the questions we ask ourselves orient us in the 180 degree wrong direction.
We ask ourselves questions like: “How come no one wants to do business with me?” This question is almost certain to lead us to a distorted perspective that has us feel lousy about ourselves and doesn’t offer any real solutions. For example, what’s the solution to “I suck” at this business (besides a big margarita or two)?
Let’s change directions. “Why is it that so many people are excited to do business with me?” Then let’s actually answer this question. As we do so, we actually sell ourselves on our value, on our potential, and on what is possible for us.
So ~ why are so many people excited to do business with you?
In the spirit of leading through vulnerability, here are my answers:
- Because I really do love people and genuinely want people to do better and be happier.
- Because my genius or gift is to be able to easily see the limiting beliefs and head trash that hold people back and then I know how to upgrade these.
- Because I know how to make things simple to grasp and apply.
- Because I make learning and growth fun and light-hearted.
- Because I am really good at what I do.
- Because the people I work with get happier and their businesses do better.
- Because I offer the hope that things can be different and the pathway to get there. I cure frustration and disappointment.
- Because I have tremendous insight into people.
- Because I treat them like friends (they become my friends) not like commodities or dollars.
- Because I have the answers they are looking for.
- Because I do live in a friendly universe.
- Because there is an innate drive in everyone to do better, and people frequently need some help and support with that – which I provide.
- Because my intention is to serve, contribute, and make a difference.
- Etc. etc. etc.
How do you think you’ll feel about yourself and your business after you answer this question for yourself?
