Circus expectations

We saw Toruk by Cirque Du Soleil this evening.

Toruk trades the breathtaking acrobatics of every other Cirque Du Soleil performance that I’ve seen for breathtaking special effects and set design. Toruk was almost like a play with some acrobatics thrown in.

Based on my previous experiences, it was not at all what I expected.

So I had a choice. I could either let go of my expectations and enjoy what was there or hang on to my expectations and be disappointed because it was not what I expected.

We frequently have these kinds of choices in our lives and our happiness and enjoyment hang in the balance. Choose wisely.
