Campfire of Passion and Purpose
There’s an illusion that once you find your passion – purpose – big why, it will hold on to you, take over, and never let go.
It doesn’t work that way.
If you want your campfire to keep burning, you have to keep adding wood to the fire. If you stop adding wood, the fire will soon be out. The same is true with passion, purpose, and your big why. You need to keep adding fuel to that fire.
You add fuel to that fire by thinking about it every day. You remind yourself why this is important and why it matters. You strongly feel the emotions this brings up. You have a picture about it on your vision board. You ask yourself, “What am I doing with this precious life of mine?” You do whatever you need to do to keep it present and relevant.
As long as you keep feeding the campfire, you get to enjoy its warmth and beauty. And if it does go out, it is no big deal to rekindle the fire.
Much love,
Jonathan
