Today I will be getting my head shaved for St Baldrick’s, a non-profit organization that raises money for childhood cancer research.
Part of the reason I do this every year is to remind myself to be grateful for what I already have. Both of my daughters are totally healthy and for that I am so very grateful.
There are so many things like this in our lives that we take for granted but, these things are actually a tremendous blessing. When we stop the world for just a moment and experience gratitude for these things, something amazing happens – our lives get richer and fuller, our hearts open, and we remember that our lives are already pretty darn good!
Remembering that our lives are already good changes everything. It is the antidote to thinking that where you are now is bad and wrong. This is something people do all the time and then suffer tremendously (I’ll be happy when this is different) and repel their good.
There is so much good in your life already – be grateful for what you have!
