What if it is time to be your own best friend!
So much of what we do to be kind or nice to ourselves really isn’t kind or nice. For example – eating 10 chocolate chip cookies because I am stressed, is not truly being kind to myself. It is doing damage and helping me to numb out rather than learn and grow.
So, the first step in this is to redefine what being your own best friend means. With this new definition, it is time for some tough love ~ doing the things that we know will benefit ourselves even when we don’t feel like it.
Being my own best friend is forcing myself to be uncomfortable and take action anyway.
Being my own best friend is forcing myself to exercise, make phone calls, have the tough conversations, etc. even though I don’t feel like it.
When I’m acting as my own best friend, I say, “Do it anyway because you are worth it!” And, I mean it.
Isn’t it time to start being your own best friend?
Much love,
Jonathan
