Getting Honest With Ourselves
Imagine going to a networking event (or a social event) and introducing yourself like this:
- I’m the kind of person who puts things off until later rather than doing them now.
- I’m the kind of person who makes excuses rather than doing the important things that I don’t feel like doing.
- I’m the kind of person who aimlessly surfs the web rather than making phone calls.
- Etc.
Take a look at your life and your current behaviors. Be honest, what kind of person are you? Is it time for an upgrade?
Now it is vitally important how you get honest with yourself. We can see where we aren’t making the best choices and beat up on ourselves. We can also see that these choices are not conducive to how we want to live our lives and who we want to be. We can then inspire ourselves to do better and to make different choices. Done this way, this becomes an act of self-love, brings us up, and builds our confidence.
Getting honest with ourselves in a kind and gentle way makes it much easier to make better choices. “I don’t want to be the person who procrastinates. I’d much rather be the person who gets things done. So instead of procrastinating right now, I better get into action.
Much Love,
