The wrong to-do list
The temptation is to fill our schedules with action items that are in our comfort zone. This gives us a mock sense of accomplishment because we can point to all that we got done. But ultimately, this doesn’t support us in becoming the person we want to be or in achieving the results we want to achieve. This busyness becomes a hiding place.
And, when we do this, there’s a part of us that knows that we let ourselves off the hook, that we took the easy way out, and so on some level we end up feeling disappointed in ourselves.
Yes of course, there are things in our comfort zone that simply need to get done. And, we should celebrate getting those things done. And, we also need to strike a balance between activity inside our comfort zone and activity outside our comfort zone. We need both.
Much Love,
Jonathan
