The little dream stealers
Of course, the big head trash stories create a lot of sabotage ~ I’m not worthy, I’m not enough, it is not okay to sell, I cannot be a good person and also make a lot of money etc.
However, the subtle, little, seemingly innocent stories can cause a lot of problems too. Countless dreams have been killed by these little stories ~ I’m tired, I’ll do it later, I don’t feel like it, this isn’t fun, etc. These little stories easily take us out of action which preserves the status quo and prevents us from moving ourselves forwards.
For example: let’s say that it is 6:00pm and I’ve still got a few things I want to accomplish today. But then I tell myself the story, “I’m tired.” Once I’ve told myself this story, it becomes much harder to push on because after all, I’m tired. I can just do it tomorrow. I’ve already worked a lot today. It is okay to not get that done.
But then a few minutes later my phone rings. Three of my friends want to play some sand volleyball doubles and they need a fourth. Suddenly, I’m not tired any more. I’m on my way to the sand courts.
What about “not fun”? As soon as we label something “not fun” we are naturally going to want to avoid it.
These little stories can be big dream stealers.
Stories can always be changed and upgraded ~ always!
Much Love,
Jonathan
