Prisoner by choice
Whenever we say “have to”, we turn ourselves into a prisoner. We become trapped. And then we suffer.
When we change our language to “choose to”, the suffering ends (or at least is greatly decreased).
Even in difficult situations and circumstances, there’s tremendous power in choosing.
We can also add an empowering story. “I choose to do this because I’m the kind of person who does the right thing. Or, I choose to do this because I’m kind.” Etc.
Much Love,
Jonathan
