Not Worth Getting Upset Over
This morning on the way to school, Sabine and I stopped by the donut shop to pick up her order – donuts that spell happy bday Sabine.
However, the donuts actually spelled Sabrin. My wife placed the order in person and wrote out “Sabine” so how this happened???? Who knows.
As we were driving to school, I thought about how often something like this happens and people get upset. (I’ve certainly done it many times – but not this time.) Couldn’t you easily imagine someone getting all upset, making up a story that they ruined the birthday, refusing to pay, being mean to the donut people, etc.
Why do we do that? Why are we so willing to throw away our happiness because something happened? Why? It isn’t a particularly smart way to live. It isn’t an enjoyable way to live. It is not a satisfying way to live.
But, it is a habitual way to live. And that is a habit we would be much better off without. (And I seriously doubt that the “R” tasted any different than an “E” would have tasted.)
Much Love,
Jonathan
