Let’s believe in Santa again
If you were to ask me to join you in believing in Santa again, I would decline your offer. I would decline because I cannot see any benefit in believing that again. I know that no presents are going to magically appear under the tree. If I try to sit on Santa’s lap at the mall, I’m probably going to end up in jail. I cannot see any upside to adopting this belief.
Back then when I did believe, it was useful and enjoyable. But that was then and this is now.
We’d be well served by using “that was then and this is now” with a lot of our old beliefs that no longer serve us. For example, I might catch myself believing in scarcity. Then I can remind myself – that belief belongs in my past and I am creating a very different present and future – that was then and now I choose to believe something different.
“That was then” can make it easy for us to move away from our limiting beliefs. Now I choose to believe this.
Much Love,
Jonathan
