I’m not into shame
The other day I was working with a client on letting go of shame. The energy was so intense that I felt sick to my stomach.
This got me to thinking about shame and how much shame there is in the world and how toxic shame is.
For example ~ every argument involves shaming each other and trying to make the other person feel less than. Or, how often do parents shame their children?
But I also had the realization that just because someone tries to shame us doesn’t mean that we have to feel shame. We don’t have to accept.
If I was holding a dog turd and reached out my hand to you to get you to take it, you wouldn’t take it. You’d say, “No thanks! You can keep that.”
We can do the same with shame attempts. “No thanks! You can keep that. I’m not into shame!”
And if we want to make this world a better place, we can vow to never shame again.
Much Love,
Jonathan
