Trapped
If I know that there are land mines in my front yard, I am not going to go into my front yard. I’m going to stay inside where it is safe.
We have a lot of land mine thinking – thinking that leads to feeling trapped. And, we don’t want to be trapped. So, it is better to just stay put rather than risk being trapped.
- If I’m successful, people will expect too much from me.
- If I’m successful, then there will be this tremendous pressure to maintain that level of success.
- If I really commit to this then I will lose my freedom.
- If I make too much money, too many people will be asking me for money.
- What if I get there and I don’t like it?
- What if I cannot handle the responsibility?
- Money and/or success will change me.
- And so on.
This kind of thinking is often outside of our conscious awareness (unless we look for it) and totally sabotages us.
There’s no reason I would go into my front yard if I think there’s a good chance that I will get blown up. There’s no reason that I’d move forward and go for it if I think there’s a good chance that I will get trapped.
Of course, these traps are head trash lies, but if we don’t uncover them and upgrade our thinking, we won’t move forwards. It is simply too risky.
Much Love,
Jonathan
