Bitter to Bittersweet
As I mentioned in the last Dose, my daughter’s pet rabbit died.
This experience has been a great reminder for me and a great teaching opportunity for my daughter that we ALWAYS get to choose the direction of our thoughts.
If she thinks about, “why did this happen?” and thoughts of that nature she is going to suffer and her experience is going to be bitter. Her heart will close.
However, if she thinks about great memories with Chuck, about how cute he was, about how much she enjoyed him, and how much she loved him – then her experience becomes bittersweet and she can even have some joy. Most importantly, when she does this her heart stays open.
We ALWAYS get to choose.
Much Love,
Jonathan
