Money and guilt and inaccurate thinking
In our world, there’s a lot of guilt associated with money.
Most, if not all, of this is based on inaccurate thinking. The thinking goes that the more I have the less someone else has. This creates a dilemma. Either I can be a good guy or I can have money but I cannot have both.
That’s not how money works. In fact, it is completely backwards.
The more I have, the more I will spend – whether on necessities or luxuries. When I spend, then other people get more money. When I don’t spend then others don’t receive money through me.
Another inaccurate thought: money is scarce. No, it is not. It is everywhere. And we can get more of it by creating value for others. We aren’t taking money from others, we are creating value for others. There’s no guilt in creating value.
If in your head money = guilt then you will find ways to not have money around or certainly not have any extra around. Replace guilt with gratitude and thanksgiving.
Much Love,
Jonathan
