Dam

Imagine putting a dam across a river. Then you watch the spillway at the top of the dam from down river. All you can see is that there is no water coming through the spillway. From that perspective, you cannot see what is going on in the newly forming lake. You cannot tell whether the water is mere inches from the top or dozens of feet from the top.

This often happens when we start doing personal growth work. Although we can tell that we are happier, more peaceful, and relating better to ourselves – we don’t see an increase in income or business growth. All we can see is that there is no water (no money) coming over the spillway.

Then it is easy to get frustrated.

But, the changes you can notice tell you that the reservoir is indeed filling up and sooner or later water will start flowing out that spillway. So, keep doing your personal growth work.
