Defective Life Strategies
There are many defective life strategies. These strategies do not produce the result(s) that they claim to produce. But very few people have stopped to examine this, and so people keep on using these defective strategies – hoping that they will work. They won’t!
Here are a few of them:
- Beating up on myself will create improved performance. Literally impossible because this makes our bodies and our brains weaker which makes doing better an impossibility.
- Guilt will prevent us from doing it again. Guilt creates recidivism. What we think about comes about and guilt is focusing on that thing, compelling us to do it again.
- Perfectionism will keep me safe and loved. First, it is impossible to be perfect. Humans err at times. Secondly, even if we do something perfectly, it doesn’t guaranty that we will be loved or liked. Thirdly, perfectionism creates a complete lack of freedom.
- And, there are many more of these defective strategies
When we see that we are using a defective strategy, we need to realize that it will never work and then try a different strategy instead. Or, we can keep using the defective strategy and pray for a miracle.
Much Love,
Jonathan
