Hacking Human Glitches
The other day my outlook refused to open. I tried a few things and quickly realized that this computer challenge was far beyond me. I called for help.
My friend, Paul, started working the keyboard and all these different windows opened that I’ve never seen before. And in just a short while my outlook was working again.
Paul knows how to get beneath the surface of a computer. He knows what buttons to push. I don’t.
This is a good metaphor for the work that I (and other good change agents) do with people. I know how to get beneath the surface and see what the glitches are in the human programming. Then we repair those glitches and that sets people free to do better, be happier, and produce unprecedented results.
Just like I was never going to fix my computer myself and needed to get some help, people sometimes need some help to deal with the glitches in their programming. If that’s you, find someone who knows how to get beneath the surface and take care of the glitches and let that person help you.
Much Love,
Jonathan
